Transporting you to Manhattan in the Roaring Twenties. A young Millie Dillmount travels from Kansas in search of a new life and a wealthy husband. As she checks in to the Hotel Priscilla she encounters the eccentric proprietor Mrs Meers and her riotous adventures in New York city begin….

When I go and see a show, there are two things I dread, One, if I love the film version, because it rarely lives up to it (i.e Grease) and two, if I know someone in the cast, because you might not like it, or say it's better than it is. Thankfully even though the two apply in this case, I needn't have worried.

This musical version of the film is fantastic. It has enough of the film blended well with new and different bits. In fact this bitty story suits the stage better I think.

The whole cast were strong, and delivered their own important stamp on the production. Lesley Joseph (Mrs Meers) was on usual form and Donna Steele (Millie) was brilliant. Grace Kennedy (muzzy) proved what a great gob she has, and Nicola Blackman proved very popular as Miss Flannery in the office. Almost dare I say stealing the comedy character roll from Ms Joseph.

Richard Reynard (Jimmy) proved how good you can be when you're strong in all three, (acting/singing/dancing) not many have this talent.
(And yes he is the member of the cast I know, but I really do mean it, honest!)
