A milestone in musical theatre, charting a year in the life of a group of twenty somethings. It's incredible score features rock, pop, blues, gospel and even tango. The 90's Musical.

I was let down by the sound the first time I saw this great show. When I saw it again some months later, not only was the sound far better but the performances were stronger aswell.

There is only one other musical I know where the audience leave in tears and that's Blood Brothers, but I'm not comparing Rent to that
. You can't, it good but not brilliant.

Aids, Gay's, drugs and death, all the things we love to cheer us all up !!

A very strong singing and dancing cast, who can all act as well, which is always a bonus in a musical.

The star of the show, has to be my favourite, Debbie Kurup, Damien Flood is a close third after, not, token celebrity Adam Rickitt, but Neil Couperthwaite, who was quite extraordinary as "Angel".

Talking of Adam Rickitt, he proved he could sing after all, not brilliantly and he was the weakest person in the show. But who cares he made sure all the theatres filled up everynight, so he more than did what he was so obviously employed for.
