Matthew Bourne's version set to Tchaikovsky's much loved score. Full of theatrical magic that takes you on a sparkling journey from a cold, bleak orphanage to a kaleidoscope fantasy world.

I never was a Ballet or Contemporary Dance lover....or so I thought until discovering Mr Bourne. He is simply a genius. He makes normal foke like me, enjoy and more importantly, understand what the hell is going on!
A lot more acting from the dancers this time, highlightly a few personalities from the fantastic dancing crowd.
From grey and sad to colourful and magical, a sort of "Wizard of Oz" meets "Toy Land"
I first saw this show up at Saddler's Wells, a matinee with the brilliant Adam Galbraith taking on the lead role of Nutcracker. When I saw it a few months later on tour Alan Vincent the main lead was in the role and sadly didn't do it as well in my eyes.
