It's the society wedding of the year. The flowers have arrived, the champagne's on ice and the guests, press and paparazzi are assembling. All they need now is for the bride to choose her groom. Adapted from one of Hollywood's best-loved films, Cole Porter's vintage musical is a giddy blend of corking songs, fizzing one-liners and champagne-fuelled farce.

The equivalent of a "chick flick," Lots of arrrrhs and ooohs, bit a of sop and just enough time in the interval to discuss all the gorgeous frocks!!
It also makes a good night out for the blokes as well. A decent musical with a decent plot, great characters, performed with relish.
Royston Kean was excellent as the leering old Uncle Willie, (Leslie Phillips eat your heart out) Another member of the cast who stood out, worthy of a mention was Giles Alderson, one of the servants (chorus).
Talking on the servants, they were responsible for the seem less and simple scene changes. A refreshing change not to have any extravagant set, upstaging the performers.
Graham Bickley played Dexter, he reminded me of the Narrator in Blood Brothers, on the stage but in a different dimension almost, looking over the weird rich family. Susie Blake played the elegant and beautifully stage present mother of Tracy played by Katherine Kingsley, who stole the show, everything revolved round her whether it was supposed to or not. Beautiful voice, beautiful to look at and a great drunk!
